DGFT Introduces New Features in Bank Guarantee Repository Module

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has introduced enhanced features in the Bank Guarantee Repository Module through Trade Notice No. 23/2026-27 dated 28 August 2026.

These changes aim to reduce paperwork, improve monitoring and simplify Bank Guarantee management for exporters.

1. Fresh or Replacement Bank Guarantee

A new “Purpose” field has been added to the DGFT Portal. Exporters can now specify whether the Bank Guarantee is:

A fresh submission, or
A replacement of an existing Bank Guarantee

This will help DGFT authorities correctly identify and link replacement BGs.

2. Automatic BG Expiry Alerts

The system will send automatic email alerts to exporters:

60 days before BG expiry
45 days before BG expiry

These reminders will help exporters renew or replace their Bank Guarantees on time.

3. Digital Notices and Communication

DGFT Regional Authorities can now generate and digitally sign communications through the portal relating to:

Renewal or replacement of BG
Renewal notice to the exporter or bank
Encashment notice to the bank
Return of BG to the exporter

This will reduce manual and paper-based communication.

4. Online BG Status Tracking

Exporters can track different stages of their Bank Guarantee, including:

Pending Acceptance
Accepted
Replaced
Returned after EODC
Renewal Notice Issued
Encashment Notice Issued

In certain Advance Authorisation and EPCG invalidation cases, the BG status will automatically change to “Accepted” after approval of the invalidation file.
